Stranded pilot whales in Staffin 06/04/2015 It's been a busy couple of days. We saw the call for volunteers to help the 10 beached long fin pilot whales on Staffin Island and were there until the tide came back in and we could get the whales re floated at 9pm at night. After 10 hours of keeping them upright, wet and rocking them, we got 7 of them safely back in the water. We were back out yesterday on the RIB to check they hadn't beached again. Happily we didn't see the pilot whales but we did see a minke whale!
